Jess has founded Latimer Living with the intention of bringing her distinctive South African and self-coined ‘eclectic colonial’ décor style to her loyal guests and the broader market.  The new online luxury interiors and homeware shop will offer a curated range of bespoke homeware and design items from across southern Africa.  The launch of Latimer Living follows the huge success of Cape View Clifton, the boutique guesthouse in Clifton, Cape Town which opened its doors in November 2012 and was designed by Jess.  Her philosophy was simple: to create a relaxed, informal, yet stylish environment that is exquisitely appointed while remaining affordable and a ‘home away from home’.  The artwork, photography and objects on display throughout Cape View Clifton are indicative of Jess’ natural love of interior design, and the personal touch she has brought to the property, sourced on her travels throughout Africa. Latimer Living has been inspired by the city’s trailblazing contemporary arts scene, and demand from guests staying at the guesthouse for her products and effortless style in their own homes in the UK and beyond. As well as selling hard-to-find, sustainably-sourced products, the site will offer a bespoke interiors concierge and styling service, in which Jess will advise in person or remotely, to those who want to develop their interior style on their own but with the support of an expert.  Clients of Latimer Living will be able to send in photographs of their existing homes and furniture in exchange for Jess’ expert opinion on how best to make successful tweaks and changes, as well as receive suggestions on which products on the website work best to complete the look.  Jess enjoys mixing Latimer Living products with her clients’ existing furniture, creating a home that is relative and very personal to their lifestyle, as well as stylish, practical and inviting.  Jess can also provide a full, bespoke interior design service. Products on sale will be ethically sourced from artisans in countries including South Africa, Botswana and Kenya and offer modern African style with a contemporary yet colonial feel. Some ranges include collaborations with Jess and the producers, resulting in unique products created with her clients in mind. Dispatched from the UK, everything from furniture, lighting, tableware, rugs, cushions, ornaments and decorative objects and more are available for purchase at the click of a button.  Other personalised services available through Latimer Living include remote interior consulting, design and styling as well as bespoke product sourcing.
