THANOS HOTELS AND RESORTS INTRODUCES AMYTH OF NICOSIA, A NEW BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN THE HEART OF HISTORIC NICOSIA, CYPRUS’ UNEXPLORED CAPITAL - OPENED MARCH 2025
March 21stCyprus

Amyth of Nicosia is the third hotel in a new, design-led collection from the leading Cypriot family-owned group, Thanos Hotels. Having undergone a transformation in recent years, Nicosia is a cultural melting pot that is ripe for exploration, yet relatively untouched by mainstream tourism. Set within the city’s mediaeval Venetian Walls, Amyth of Nicosia captures the spirit of Nicosia’s Old Town, featuring a listed villa with stunning architectural details, decorative ceilings and walls, vintage tiled floors and a splendid grand staircase. The property will offer 7 luxury bedrooms and 3 suites, a restaurant, bar, library and alfresco terrace. Originally built as a private school, the property was created with the Mediterranean climate in mind by local Cypriot interior designer, Maria Neophytou. The central courtyard will be shaded by olive trees to create a cooling microclimate at the heart of the hotel. On the upper level, spacious suites open out to a secluded terrace, each with its own private balcony, allowing guests to look out onto the bustling street life of the Old Town. Ideally situated in the picturesque historic part of the city, guests will have a wealth of cultural highlights on their doorstep, including the Archbishopric of Cyprus and its Museum of Byzantine Art and the Cyprus Ethnological Museum, as well as the city’s thriving café culture and the opportunity to visit a 16th-century Hamam Omerye bathhouse.
