The Lanesborough launches new Alexander Hamilton Afternoon Tea
Following the December opening of the hit musical Hamilton at the nearby Victoria Palace Theatre, The Lanesborough, part of the prestigious Oetker Collection, is launching a special Alexander Hamilton afternoon tea inspired by the characters and events bought to life by the Broadway phenomenon.

Available from 8 January 2018, the afternoon tea has been created by Michelin-starred Celeste’s new Head Pastry Chef Gabriel Le Quang, and costs £39 per person, or £49 with a glass of Champagne per person.
Served alongside The Lanesborough’s famous scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a selection of classic finger sandwiches, the new pastry creations and inspirations include:
Exotic Lace Cupcake – Paying homage to the exotic flavours of Alexander Hamilton’s Caribbean heritage, with a laced cup inspired by the lace detailing worn by the Schulyer sisters. A vanilla cupcake with a Chantilly cream and garnished with an exotic confit made of mango, banana, passionfruit and lime
Blackberry Cheesecake – A contemporary take on the classic American cheesecake and inspired by the distinctive purple colour and golden buttons of the uniform of Alexander Hamilton. An originally shaped baked blackberry cheesecake with cheesecake mousse and blackberry filling.
Grapefruit Religieuse – Inspired by the pink worn by one of the Schulyer sister’s, Angelica, and the pomelo flavours of the Caribbean. A pink choux religieuse with a pink craquelin bonnet, filled with pomelos cream and Chantilly.
Pecan pie – A twist on the classic American pastry, a delicate pie made with pecan dough, pecan and vanilla caramel mix and topped with pecan Chantilly and caramelised banana.
Caraibes Chocolate Star – Representing the stars on the American flag; a chocolate shortbread, garnished with a Caraibes 66% Valrhona ganache and gold star.
